Apiary for Überlingen

A place for bees, education and biodiversity
The newly created apiary offers space for up to 20 bee colonies. The complex is supplemented by separate rooms for honey harvesting as well as for training and information events. The complex is located on a species-rich flower meadow with newly created mixed orchards, which offer bees a diverse and natural range of food.
As early as 2025, the first ten bee colonies were settled as young colonies. Further development and support is carried out in close cooperation with the Überlingen beekeeping association. The technical expert responsible for the project is Martin Kitt, who supervises the beekeeping concept and sustainable care of bee colonies.
By May 2026, a total of 20 bee colonies should be established and permanently preserved in the long term. With the complete completion of the apiary in 2026, the Maria Streibich Foundation is making an important contribution to protecting the local insect world and raising public awareness of the central role of bees as indispensable pollinators in our ecosystem.
Visit to the apiary
In future, the apiary will also serve as a place of learning for schools and daycare centers. A calendar for booking sightseeing appointments and guided tours will be available here shortly.
