Schilasmühle “Farm for school children”

Experience nature, take responsibility and experience community — in the middle of the big city. The Schilasmühle in Frankfurt is a special place of learning and adventure where children can discover and actively shape nature with all their senses.

Learn by doing

As a historic four-sided farm in the Urselbach nature reserve, Schilasmühle offers an authentic rural environment with animals, gardens, workshops and orchards. Here, children experience nature not theoretically, but through their own actions — by observing, trying out and participating.

Space for development and community

Working on the farm strengthens children's personal development and social interaction. They learn to take responsibility, understand the rhythm of the seasons and understand the connections between nature, food and crafts. The Maria Streibich Foundation supports this work by funding regular offers and workshops.

Making sustainability tangible

Schilasmühle expresses appreciation for nature and the environment and promotes conscious, resource-saving action. This creates impulses for sustainable thinking at an early stage — supported by curiosity, the joy of discovery and genuine experience.
