Preventing falls in old age

Mobility and self-employment are key prerequisites for quality of life in old age. The Center for Healthy Ageing (ZeGA) at Robert Bosch Hospital Stuttgart starts right here and is developing new ways of preventive geriatric medicine.

ZeGA sees itself as a specialized point of contact for older people with an increased risk of falling and mobility. On the basis of a structured self-assessment and medical and physiotherapeutic examinations, the individual risk is identified and specifically classified. Based on this, participants receive personal advice and a tailor-made prevention and training program that is intended to strengthen their mobility in the long term.

Systematic prevention and future prospects

The center combines evidence-based training modules with modern diagnostics and digital support. The aim is to prevent falls, maintain functional abilities and promote the independence of older people in the long term. At the same time, ZeGA serves as a model project for future-oriented prevention work, which can also be transferred to other regions and opens up new digital access to health care.
