Überlingens Stadtgrün und Wald

An information publication on urban greenery, biodiversity and sustainable forest management was created for the green spaces office of the city of Überlingen. Raising public awareness was supported by the Maria Streibich Foundation.

Urban greenery, biodiversity and sustainable forest management

The publication explains the importance of urban trees, green spaces and forests for climate, biodiversity and quality of life. She explains how municipal tree care, climate-resilient plantings and near-natural green spaces contribute to stabilizing urban ecosystems.

Practical examples show how tree controls, modern diagnostic methods and targeted maintenance measures are used to ensure the safety and longevity of urban trees. At the same time, challenges such as climate change, tree diseases or changing site conditions are explained in an understandable way.

In addition, the publication takes up the ONE health concept: The health of humans, animals and the environment is inextricably linked. Measures such as species-rich mowing meadows, near-natural plantings or climate-resilient tree species strengthen biodiversity and ecological cycles and thus make an important contribution to a livable urban climate in Überlingen.
